Robin's '69 Harley Davidson

Our buddy Robin is one hell of a cool cat! This guy likes everything that can move on wheels, as long as it's old! If it's a vintage car, truck, tractor, moped, motorbike, airplane, whatever, it doesn't matter! He likes it! Oh yeah!
Here you see his HD… It's powered by a Shovelhead motor and all the nice work you see on it is done by Robin himself. Except for the paintjob and the building of the wheels. We still haven't figured out how he ever smuggled those Avon Gangster tires through customs at Amsterdam Airport, but somehow he managed to do it!
Everytime we visit him, he'll be changing something on the bike, or he's working on his early Hemi powered '55 Dodge Custom Royal. Or on his dad's chevy truck… Or on his Sparta moped… Or on… It's like this guy just "lives" in his garage!

April 2004... Check out Robin's new '57 Pan... Will be kustomized ASAP!! Beware... This is gonna be a bad ass bike!

Our bro Ryan is from Whittier, California, and has a pretty nice collection of cars... Here you see his '55 Bel Air which he uses as a daily driver. It has dropped spindles with discs up front and it's powered by 350/350 combo.

The RPU you see here is recently built by Ryan. It gets power from an early Chrysler Hemi motor and runs open headers!! It's loud as f*#k!! And fast too, with it's 5.11 gears! Ryan currently has plans to start building a bellytanker, to race El Mirage....

Here's a little 411 on Ryan's truck:

1932 Ford cab, converted to modified roadster, channeled 5 inches, custom windshield, dash, floor, etc. aluminum aircraft ejection seats from WWII era bomber

1925 Model T bed

1931 Chevy frame, c-notched in rear, Model A, rear crossmember, custom tubular K-member, suicide perch front crossmember, pinched and bobbed in front, boxed.

1953 Chrysler 331cu Hemi, Racer Brown cam, ported and polished heads, oversized valves, milled to boost compression, 4-duece Weiand intake with 4 '48' Strombergs mated to a T-5 manual trans using stock Chevy clutch actuated by a Howe racing hydraulic throwout bearing.

Carsten Woitenek's amazing MOPAR collection

Well, here’s an amazing collection of cars Bas’s good friend Carsten Woitenek (Germany) owns. All the cars are genuine MOPAR muscle machines… It’s around 10 cars we believe!
He began collecting these cars years ago, when not many people were very interested in these “ugly American pimp rides”… As many people call ‘em overhere (stupids).
Well, this started to change in the last few years and now, Carsten has a beautiful collection of mostly unrestored, matching numbers Plymouths and Dodges, which everybody really really digs out here!
A few of his cars are:

  • 1970 Plum Crazy Dodge HEMI Charger R/T Pistol Grip 4 speed, 4:10 Dana rearend: Super Track Pack… What’s really cool about this ride is that it is the ONLY ’70 Plum HEMI 4 speed Charger known to exist… Only two others in Plum are known as both automatics!
  • 1969 1/2 Dodge HEMI Superbee
  • 1970 Plum Crazy Plymouth GTX 440+6 4 speed with Airgrabber hood (which Carsten uses as a daily driver, oh yeah!)
  • 1970 Plum Crazy Dodge Superbee
  • 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner Hemi 4 Speed

Bas wants to thank Carsten for decoding the fendertag on his ’68 Roadrunner. Carsten also took Marcel and Bas for a ride in his 440 powered ’69 Plymouth Roadrunner which was sooo cool!! Laying down lots of rubber on the German pavement while looking back at the sad “2 Fast 2 Furious” Volkswagen Rabbit GTI driver! Hahah!!

If you are ever visiting a Dutch, German, or other carshow and you see a guy in whatever kind of badass MOPAR, wearing glasses and an old leather jacket, who shoots pics of every nice ride that’s around, then it must be Carsten!!

Dré Meulendijks' '71 Chevrolet Chevelle

Dré's Chevelle finally has it's 427 motor inside... And it's badass!! Too bad it's winter right now. Dré has been able to put some miles on it but now the weather is getting worse and it would be a shame to ride this thing through the snow.
Oh yeah, tranny is a TH400 and it has a 12 bolt rearend.. More specs will follow in a while.

Remko Verouden's 1969 Plymouth Satellite

Here's a few shots from Remko Verouden's 1969 Plymouth Satellite, one of our MOPAR-buddy's from around town. As you can see, these pics where taken in the US, before the car was shipped to The Netherlands.

You wouldn't tell from it's name but this Satellite really burns some rubber. It is originally equiped with a 318 cui motor but has a pretty wild powersource right now! Open up the hood and you will find a genuine Dodge Coronet R/T 383 H-code engine! It's a devil in disguise... The paint job is mostly original, just like the interior, but that will be re-upholstered soon according to Remko.

In a while, the car will get some new shoes. New pictures will be posted by then. Here are some specs on Remko's Satellite:

  • 383 cui
  • 727 tranny
  • 3300 tci stallconverter with manual valve body
  • holley carb
  • electronic ignition
  • Hooker headers
  • 3:23 Sure Grip rearend

Mark de Weme's 1970 Dodge Charger

Tilly's collegue Mark is currently working on his car, re-doing his engine bay, and... The motor that's gonna be in there... The car was formerly equipped with a 383, but he swapped it for a rebuilt 440, for a little more power... As you can see on the "before" and "after" pics, he did a very nice job on that! Next up will be some new paint for the car...

More specs will be up soon...

Sophorn Sin's A roadster pick up

Sophorn's a good friend of us from the Nor Cal, San Jose area. He runs a sweet little Model A roadster pick up… And, you could say, he pretty much gets around…! As you can tell from the pics. Paso, Bonneville, Bakersfield … He also drove it out to the 2003 Antique Nats. Pretty hardcore… If we tell you that he broke down about 19 times on the way to B'ville in 2002!! But he managed to get there anyway! Here's what Sophorn has to tell about his ride:

Well about the pick up…. It sports a 1949-53 mystery motor… Stock transmission, three speed… Juice brakes all around, 3" drop axle, 7"chopped radiator " the flathead killer"… Z'ed 4” in the front and 9" in the rear. 8" rearend out of a mustang I think...? Channelled 4" for a total 8" drop. Plenty of room in the cab..! Ya don sit donky dick stupid in this one! No goggles required… Wind shield chopped 3 5/8", 13 degrees rake, maybe 2 more inches when I get a top for it… Edmunds 2x2  intake and maybe some aluminum heads when I sell a painting… Mooneyes/Stuart Warner gauges. Bell style steering wheel… Black paint mix from left over paint... If you look close enough there is some fine metal flake in it… I guess that's about it.

Late....

Craig Oakland's '31 Roadster

Geert Schepers' 1968 Buick Le Sabre

Maybe you know Geert's Camaro that was for sale for a period of time on the classifieds page. Well, he sold it. But, he still has his 1968 Buick Le Sabre. It has a 350 motor in it and was taken good care of the last 4 years it was owned by Geert. As you can tell from the pictures, the Torque Trust II rims gives it a nice look. Geert is currently looking for a 430 motor to make the Buick go "a little" faster.

More detailed specs later...

Wilfed Boudewijns 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback

Ever since I know Wilfed, he's talking about getting his own Ford Mustang. Now, for a couple of years, he has one. He bougth this Fastback in The Netherlands and is a genuine Californian black-plate import. The freshly rebuild tranny behind the 302cid V8 motor, makes it a real cruiser.

Wishnu Ville's 1966 Dodge Monaco

Again, mopar enters our Friends Rides section. Wishnu, always being very detailed about things, send us his 1966 Dodge Monaco.

This car will mostly be used to test certain component combinations, before letting it loose on the Strip. The car was originally equipped with a 383HP, but now a 74 400 resides in the engine bay. This engine currently has ported 452 heads, a Weiand Stealth 8008 aluminium 4bbl intake with a 750 cfm Carterbrock AVS manual choke carb, an unknown performance cam and stock log exhaust manifolds. The 74 727 automatic transmission currently has an inoperative R and low gear.

For the ‘test setup’, the car and driveline will be modified in the following way:

• Engine block (general): no change
• Carburetor: Carter 6322S 850 cfm ThermoQuad w/ stock rods and jets
• Intake manifold: Stock B engine spreadbore intake
• Cylinder heads: no change
• Exhaust manifolds: 1970 C-body HP cast iron manifolds
• Transmission: rebuilt – obviously – w/ shift kit
• Torque converter: 2200 rpm advertised stall (probably 2400 rpm effective stall)
• Rear axle: stock 8 ¾” rear end w/ 3.91:1 Sure Grip
• Brakes: conversion to manual drums on all fours (power drums now)
• Exhaust system: TTI C-body dual exhaust from manifolds back
• Shoes: 15x7” Chrysler vented steel rims aka police wheels on 225s
• Suspension: Front stock suspension, rear ESPO leaf spings w/ +1” arch

The carb and intake manifold will be swapped for an Edelbrock STR-15-TQ cross ram intake and a Carter 9078S 850cfm Thermoquad w/ Strip Kit prepared by Daytona Parts Company.
Also, a tire change will be attempted to see if 295/50s will clear the rear fender wells.

Further down the line the following modifications are planned:

• Engine block: Chrysler #2532230 426 wedge
 +0.030” overbore
 Ross custom pistons 10cc dome
 Block machined for 0.1” deck clearance
 Comp Cams 288R mechanical roller cam
 Muscle Motors Racing Bracket Killer rotating assy.

• Carburetor: Carter 9078S 850cfm modified ThermoQuad
• Intake: Holley Street Dominator
• Cylinder heads: Edelbrock 88cc Performer
• Exhaust manifolds: TTI C-body headers
• Transmission: no anticipated change, other than a transmission cooler
• Torque converter: 3000 rpm advertised stall (probably 3200 eff / 4000 flash stall)
• Rear axle: stock 8 ¾” rear end w/ 4.10:1 Sure Grip
• Brakes: Front SSBC manual discs, rear biga$$ 11x2.5” drums
• Exhaust system: OPEN HEADERS @ THE TRACK!
• Shoes: 15x8” Chrysler Super Coupe vented steel rims – tires to be determined
• Suspension: no change

Further experiments include:

• Max Wedge exhaust manifolds (will they fit slab side C-bodies?)
• Intake swap to Edelbrock STR-14-6 or -45
• Carb swap to OE 1970 Holley 6bbl carbs or Dominator 1050cfm
• Conversion from automatic transmission to manual 4spd transmission
