Matt's 1950 Ford F-1

Matt from Carson, California sent us these these pics of his '50 Ford pick 'em up truck... Here's what he has to say about it:

She has a 351w engine with a Ford-O-Matic trans and olds rearend, Mooneyes gauges, Hurst shifter and a beat up Mexican blanket for a seat until I get it upholstered with black and white or blue tuck 'n roll... She also has some cheap Pep Boys specials like thin white walls, cuz I'm only 18 and still in high school, so I don't have much cash to buy my wide whites and cheater slicks yet. The truck used to be an old Southern Cali hot rod in the late 50's/early 60's, with a bored out and stroked Olds engine and trans I think. I still have the same Olds rearend...

Mike Landwehr's 1956 D/Gas Gasser project

Now here's something completelly different. This project "touched down" in our mailbox. Mike has been a regular HAMB visitor for the last two years and is working on this gasser project. Here's some more info Mike sent us:

A little more info and pics more in line with your sight... Mike's 1956 Chevy sedan Delivery Resto. Original D/Gas drag car. From the tech its probably from the 1966 -8 seasons, no history, but I was told it ran the upper midwest of the USA. The engine is a Weiand tunnel rammed Carter carbed roller rockered P.J. gear driven BIG Lunati cammed Cyclone headered 355 tire smoker with all the old school goodies on the outside and new school electronics hidden inside the old school Mallory DP, Lakewood ladders, truck rear springs with a 3:55 posi rear, stock axles (I have a 65 cyclone 9" rear with 3:89 locker planned for installation). Forward, we have a stubbed front frame section with a CEI strt tube axle and Hurst motor mounts, with a new old stock Eelco engine tie down kit. Inside we have 66 chevy buckets with a Superior red flake steering wheel and Stewart Warner green face gauges, with a Sun tach and box. A Moon gas pedal, Hurst shifted PG trans with kit and converter. It has stock rear brakes and discs planned for the 49-54 front spindles. Wheels are vintage five spokes, restored, and all aluminum. Keystones in front and ET 15x7 out back with vintage pie crust slicks...

Should be a fun ride when done - Mike

Jay's 1963 Chevrolet Impala gasser project

Jay Malmsten from Wayne, Michigan sent us these pics of his '63 Impala gasser project.

It's an old race car with a 1968 Corvette 427Cui motor and 4 spd transmission, an Olds rearend and a straight axle. The car is from the Indiana area and has been a drag car for a long time. The car is currently being put back together and will be raced again!

Jay asks if anyone has seen this car before or if anyone has some info about it...

Jay also owns a 1969 Camaro and a mint 1962 409 Impala.

Smokin' Joe's 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle

This one somehow slipped through months ago... Sorry for that... Smokin' Joe from the HAMB sent us this one a long while ago... It's his 70's Chevy Chevelle on the salt lakes in Wendover at the 2003 Bonneville Speedweek...
